A lot of people have been asking me how they think our dogs will do when the baby arrives. In fact, I've even expressed my thoughts about this on a previous post. However, I'm pretty certain our two labs will do well. We had a couple over on Saturday that have a 3 month old baby. They have dogs too so I asked if they minded if our dogs were out while they were there. It was hysterical watching the dogs around their baby. Now of course both wanted to come straight up to his face and give it kisses as well as sniff to inspect it. I never let them do that but their parents said they were fine if they kissed his feet or legs. A large portion of the night was devoted to my dogs wagging their tails at the baby and trying to give him love. It was adorable and when they did settle down they both would lay right at my feet when I was holding the baby. Even when he cried they just remained curious. Any anxiety I did have has been calmed down. I think they will both do fine; especially because they both already love older kids. If anything I see them being very protective...nothing wrong with that!
