We went for our weekly doctor's appointment today and yeah for progression! I'm just about 2 cm dilated now which is better than nothing. The doctor could tell my cervix was softer and that our baby's head was making good progression downwards. Uhhh duh, that's why I've been feeling so much pain. What shocked me was that he said as long as the baby goes to 39 weeks technically I could ask to be induced anytime after! So starting next Tuesday if I really wanted I could set up an appointment to be induced. This is tempting but I know me and until the doctor says I "have" to be induced I will suck it up and suffer - there must be a reason why he is not ready to come yet. Still, I admit, it's very tempting! :) It's really the thought of having to endure a week, possibly two more of school being this pregnant with this much pressure that gets me pretty down. People keep telling me to take half days but I feel like this is too hard on my students. I have watched teachers do this previously when they were pregnant and it really messed the kids up. It will probably be easier on them if I either was there or wasn't; half days make it confusing having to learn to different routines in the same classroom. Hopefully he will just decide to make an appearance before the doctors have to induce me!
